Events Calendar

In 2010 we will be running some educational cruises in association with other organsiations. The focus of these days is a choice of Key Stage 1 & 2 material onboard in connection with Schemes of Work, Geographical and Environmental Science.

Example of the Eden RiversTrust Excursion.
  • Departure: 10.30 am from Glenridding
  • 90 minute cruise with key stage learning interactive material onboard such as I spy landscape maps of Ullswater, stories based on the rarer species associated with the valley such as the Red Squirrel, photography challenge as well as Geographical schemes of work connected with the Mountain environment.
  • Arrive Pooley Bridge: 12am – 1pm – option to have lunch onboard or lunch in Pooley Bridge Picnic areas.
    1pm – 2pm – Meet the team from Eden Rivers Trust who will assist and provide equipment for the River Dipping activity on the banks of the River Eamont.
  • 2pm – Collection point at Pooley Bridge for return to school.

The fare for these private educational charters is £6.50 per pupil, teachers travel free with every 10 pupils.

JULY

Please note: We are limited to a minimum number of 30 and a maximum of 50 places onboard the vessel. If you require further information or wish to reserve one of these days for your schools, please contact us urgently to avoid disappointment.

DECEMBER

Santa for Schools. Two Departure times from Glenridding 10.30am & 1pm

Children will have chance to meet Santa and take part in coloring activities, with a small gift to take home.

We have 60 places for pupils (2 classes per sailing), cost is £6 per pupil, teachers travel free with every 10 pupils. Length of sailing is 1 Hour 30 minutes.

Please state AM or PM sailing when booking. Teachers will be provided with material to run onboard activities.
