JUNE/JULY/AUGUST
Food Cruises

Food Cruises with our popular Cumbrian Fayre buffets prepared by the Crown Inn, Blencowe. In the past buffets have included Cumbrian treats such as Cumbrian Air Dried Ham, Cumberland Rum Nicky and Sticky Toffee Pudding. This year we will be hosting 5 of these hour and a half events on board Lady Wakefield, departing from Pooley Bridge Pier House at 7.00p.m. Tickets are £23.95 per person and due to the popularity of these events, booking is essential. The dates are as follows - Wednesday 18th June, Wednesday 9th July, Wednesday 23rd July, Wednesday 6th August, and Wednesday 20th August.


AUGUST
Let's go Squirrel Crazy

Help us to help them and join us for our Squirrel Activity Cruises on August 7th. All profits will be donated to the Save Our Squirrels Charity.

After weeks of planning we can reveal details of a sponsored event in August. This event is sponsored by SOS Save Our Squirrel and all profits will be donated to this Charity part of the Red Alert North England Project battling in the fight to protect our Red Squirrels from elimination within the North West. This event will take place on the 7th August and we have three departure times throughout the day for an escorted walk around Lanty's Tarn followed by an hour cruise on one of our Heritage Vessels - please note that a reasonable fitness is required- . Afterwards it is back to the 'Steamers' for a Cruise, onboard there will be a Squirrel Talk with Props as well as images from our competition entries (details for the competition below). If you are lucky you may spot our very own Sammy Squirrel and Teasel Squirrel at the Pier House on your departure.

£12.50 per ticket with Under One's FREE - Ticket price includes Squirrel Goody Bag containing Drawing Templates, Mask Templates, Template to make your own Squirrel House {this will feature in a future competition} Badge, Pencils, Pad, Small Squirrel Toy, Pine Cone Feeder Instructions, Key Ring, Missing Words Quiz etc.

Meeting at National Park TIC Glenridding - please arrive 15 minutes before departure time.

Times - 10.00am, 1.15 pm and 4.00pm
Group 1 - Depart 10.00am Cruise 11.15am - 12.15am
Group 2 - Depart 1.15pm Cruise 2.30pm - 3.30pm
Group 3 - Depart 4.00pm Cruise 5.00pm - 6.00pm

AUGUST
Competition Time - Topic is 'Ullswater - Through the Seasons'

Photography Competition - £1 entry fee to enter all proceeds will be donated the SOS Campaign. The subject can be anything - landscape, flora, fauna, squirrel, 'steamer' images as some examples at any time of the year hence the title but hurry as the closing date for the competition will be the end of August. Entries will be split into three age groups:
Under 12 years,
12 -18 years,
Over 18 years.

There are prizes for the top three winners in each group with the winner's image displayed on both of our web site pages. Please note that Ullswater 'Steamers' reserve the right to use your entries for media purposes.

OCTOBER
'A Pirates life for Me' - 18th & 19th October 11.30 am - 13.30 pm -£15 includes pirate sword, bandana and eye patch.

Our Scurvy Dogs, Peg Legs, Bilge Rats and Toothless Terrors will once again be causing mayhem aboard Raven for our action-packed pirate weekend. Fancy dress is encouraged as there are prizes for this on the day and a host of games. Meet Captain Hook if you dare and beware of other pirates that may be lurking on the lake. Welcome to the Ghostly Galleon sail with us at your peril. Join us for this spooktacular event on 1st November. Which team will you be in Spidery Witch, Grim Reaper, Vampires or part of the Slimy Stinking Sea Dog Crew and who will find the Vampires coffin on Treasure Island.

Lots of games and prizes to be won with prizes for the best fancy-dress .Two Hours of Spooky Fun leaving Glenridding on 1st November at 13.30 pm - 15.30 pm question is will you come back?

DECEMBER
Santa 'The Cruise' - 13th & 14th December - 11.30 am - 13.00 pm - £15 includes christmas present from Santa.

By popular request Santa will make his annual guest appearances with The Happy Elf. Santa stars in 'The Cruise' for our Santa Special 2008. There will be a colouring competition onboard for the children with prizes to be won, a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie for the parents. Magical Christmas fun at a venue that truly sets the scene for that Christmas feeling. Booking is essential do not delay book today.
