Congratulations Robert, we are rooting for you. You never know you could be onboard with him when you visit, maybe he will sign a copy for you?

RSPB Cruise

Red DeerOur Watch the Birdie cruises have come to a close this year, but keep an eye on our event pages as we have another exciting event planned for the autumn with the RSPB, to witness the great spectacle of the Deer Rut. One of the last remaining herds of wild Red Deer in England and not to be missed; it is also the time of our autumn colours in the valley, truly magical. Just for the record, and I am sure someone will contest but there were 43 species of birds discovered on our RSPB event day, from Peregrines to Goosanders.

Happy Birthday to me

Raven actually, one of our heritage vessels is celebrating her 120th birthday on the 11th July. She was named after Ravencragg, the home of company director W H Parkin and built by the same company as Lady of the Lake. It is said that the younger the person that names a vessel, the longer she will live. The daughter of W H Parkin was just six at the time, so we hopRaven e she will grace our shores for many more years to come. If you would like to know more about us, we have history boards in the Pier House and now onboard Lady Wakefield, which illustrate a snapshot of our story. For more detailed information take home on of our pocket books available for a £1 from all of our retail points and onboard.
