On the 26 March 2018 His Royal Highness Prince of Wales visited Cumbria to officially mark the Lake District National Park’s UNESCO World Heritage Site inscription. As part of the official royal visit HRH Prince of Wales visited the award-winning visitor attraction Ullswater ‘Steamers’ and cruised from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge on their flagship vessel Lady of the Lake.

Throughout the cruise HRH Prince Charles was keen to talk to everyone including tasting a sample of award winning marmalade presented to the Prince by Jane McCosh from the annual Dalemain Mansion Festival.

Lisa Braithwaite, attraction marketing manager, said: “He was very interested in the whole of Cumbria and the Lake District and seemed really interested to find out the history of Ullswater Steamers and made no secret of his passion for heritage, culture, boats, the environment and wildlife.”

Lucinda Langton non-executive director of Ullswater Steamers presented HRH Prince Charles with a Cumbrian crystal tumbler to mark his visit to the Eden Valley.
