Ullswater ‘Steamers’ launches new for 2019 gin tasting cruises in partnership with The Lakes Distillery that reflect the changing seasons in the dramatic Lake District National Park and celebrate the Cumbrian provenance of the botanicals.
Aboard the cruise you’ll be able to sample the intriguing and complex mix of Cumbrian botanicals in the gin such as Juniper, which grows wild in the Cumbrian Fells, meadowsweet and bilberry, paired expertly with the natural flavour of Damson, Sloe, Elderflower, Rhubarb and Rose according to the season from the Lakes Distilleries range of Gin Liquers.
So, as the days grow lighter and the landscape is awash with colour from native flowers and blossom on the tree there there’s another enticing reason to step onboard the sophisticated heritage fleet of ‘Ullswater Steamers’ for Spring Gin Cruise which runs on the (3 May), Summer Gin Cruise (7 June), enjoy the last rays of the summer across the water on the Autumn Gin Cruise (9 August), and as the nights draw in and the leaves turn golden warm yourself with a Winter Gin Cruise (6 September). With Father’s Day coming up the experiences make great gifts for loved ones or a treat for yourself and a friend. The cruises depart from Pooley Bridge Pier at 7pm and to complete the atmosphere on board there will be live entertainment from singer Fiona Hanlon who has a repertoire of over 1000 songs covering pop, rock, country, folk, blues and jazz. Lisa Braithwaite, Marketing Manager says, ‘Following the success of Ullswater ‘Steamers’ first ever gin cruises last year, we wanted to share our love of all things Cumbrian, so what better way than by celebrating the flavours of the seasons. We are delighted to be working with The Lakes Distillery team again on these themed tasting evenings.’
